Jenny Funderburke

Last Friday I had lunch with Jenny Funderburke and two of the people from her team. Jenny is the minister to children at Westwood Church in Alabaster, AL. If the commitment/enthusiasm from her team is any indication, she is doing a spectacular job. We had a great time. Laughed until I cried. Check out Jenny’s blog at KidmMin Thoughts.

Michael Chanley and Roger Fields

Michael ChanleyQuirky things happen when you travel with Michael Chanley. Here is what happened on a recent road trip with Roger Fields. You just can’t make this stuff up.

1. Was it Michael’s fault Pizza Hut wouldn’t deliver to their hotel across the street?
2. Should Roger have left Michael in the Citgo restroom?

your thoughts…

Matter of Life and Death

Christianity is not about good and evil, but about life and death. Jesus did not come to make us good but to make us alive. The difference between a believer and a non-believer is not that the believer does good things and the non-believer does bad things. The prime difference is that the believer is alive and the non-believer is dead. The Bible is explicit about this from the get-go. Continue reading

Still…On the Road with Michael Chanley

The drama continues as Roger Fields of Kidz Blitz and Michael Chanley of CMConnect.org travel home. The pair stopped at a gas station for fuel and…stuff. While Fields pumped gas, Chanley visited the men’s room. After finishing with the fuel, Fields pulled his vehicle over to the outdoor restroom to wait for Chanley. Fields then saw a sign on the door that stated, “Do not shut door. Door will lock and you will be locked inside.” Fields reports that upon reading the sign his phone rang. The call was from Chanley–requesting to be let out of the restroom.

…and they’re not home yet!

On the Road with Michael Chanley

This just in! Choose your friends wisely.

Roger Fields of Kidz Blitz Ministries traveled across US with Michael Chanley of CMConnect.org conducting Kidz Blitz Live events. While lodging in local hotel chain, Chanley reportedly attempted to place a phone order from nearby Pizza Hut.  When he requested that the pizza be delivered, the request was denied. Pizza Hut was said to be approximately 100 yards from hotel location. Pizza employee stated they do not deliver to that hotel location. Chanley confirmed that employee was in fact referring to the hotel that is within walking distance. Fields and Chanley then walked to the Pizza Hut and picked up their pizza themselves. Upon returning to the hotel, they met a Pizza Hut delivery man in the hotel lobby. Delivery man confirmed to Fields and Chanley that he was from nearby Pizza Hut. When asked what he was doing there, the delivery man responded, “We always deliver here.” Fields concluded that during the phone order Chanley offended the pizza employee causing the employee to deny delivery. Fields responded, “Next time I will be more careful who I associate with. Nobody messes with my pizza.”

I Hate Halloween

I hate Halloween because I got lost during my first Trick-or-Treat outing dressed as…Bullwinkle.

Do any of you understand how lonely/frightening it is to be a lost 5-year old Bullwinkle in a new neighborhood? I don’t think so. AND we discovered soon after that I desperately needed glasses because I was big time near-sighted. So that means I was a blind, 5 year old Bullwinkle lost in a new neighborhood.

So NO, I am not a big fan of Halloween!

OK, I feel better now.
